The Dana Medical History Collection contains books, manuscripts and journals from the sixteenth century to the present. The emphasis of the collection is American medicine and health care in Vermont. Dana Library also maintains a collection of old and rare medical instruments.
The bulk of the Medical History Collection, including Dana Medical History, Vermont Medical History, and the oversized collections are housed in the Medical History Room or a storage area within Dana Health Sciences Library. Not all material is housed in this location; some items are stored at the LRA. Dana staff members can assist you in locating medical history material. Research assistance is available by appointment only.
Here are some sample records for Medical History materials. Notice the Request links: these materials need to be requested ahead of time.
