The library has a variety of study rooms available to suit user’s needs, serving UVM students, faculty and staff, and UVMMC employees. Study Rooms & Pods can be reserved online up to two weeks in advance on the library’s website. ID is required to sign out the room keys. View the full policy.
Rooms include:
- 120F – The largest room, comfortably seating 6 individuals and up to 8. The room includes: a whiteboard w/markers, power outlets and ethernet connections, as well as a wall mounted monitor suitable for connecting a laptop. This room is by far the most popular, having a large window into the library.
- 120E – Seats 2-4 (3 comfortably). The room includes: a whiteboard w/markers, power outlets and ethernet connections, as well as a wall mounted monitor suitable for connecting a laptop.
- 120D & 120 C – Seats 2-3 (2 comfortably). These rooms include a whiteboard w/markers, power outlets and ethernet connections.
- Zones Pods 120A & 120B – Single user 4x4x8 study pods. These pods have a single chair, small laptop shelf, power and internal fan.
The library’s Main Conference Room (105) is also bookable up to two weeks in advance at the library’s main desk, or signup on the door day of. This room seats 8-10 with extra seats for up to 16. The room includes a wall sized whiteboard and a wall mounted monitor with computer (keyboard and mouse are available for checkout at the main desk). The monitor is also suitable for connecting a laptop.
The Dana Classroom is an underused gem worth checking out! This public space has 18 modular desks that are usually arranged in groups of 4-5, but can be arranged to suit your study group’s needs. Multiple whiteboards around the room create the perfect study environment. Please be aware that Multiple groups can and do share the space.
The library also has 146 seats throughout the library for individual or quiet group study, including tables, modular desks, comfortable “soft” seating, standing desks and 42 of the popular Brody Privacy Pods and Desks. There are also a handful of “lefty” pods scattered around the library with the writing tablet on the left side. Check out the study spaces in the library, you might be happily surprised!
